Please support Jefferson students by participating in our fundraisers throughout the year. Our fundraising provides incentives for our students and staff in our efforts to promote positive behavior and morale here at our school. We have a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) system in place that our students love and special activities at selected grade levels. Let us know if you can assist us during the year with the various fundraising efforts.
JEFFERSON SCHOOL receives DISTINGUISHED SCHOOL & HONOR roll awards
A California Distinguished School is an award given by the California State Board of Education to public schools within the state that best represent exemplary and quality educational programs. Approximately five percent of California schools are awarded this honor each year following a selection process.
The program was established in 1985 and alternates each year between elementary (even years) and secondary (odd years) schools. The schools are recognized as distinguished for four years, and after that the recognition may be renewed.
Congratulations to our teachers, students, staff, and parents! Jefferson Elementary is one of the 278 schools being recognized in this year's second annual Top Los Angeles County Public Schools report, created in partnership with the University of Southern California Sol Price Center for Social Innovation and Rossier School of Education Center for Education Policy, Equity and Governance. Jefferson made the list based on its strong results in English and/or math proficiency for low-income African American and/or low-income Latino students in 2018-19. We believe in the incredible potential of every child. Jefferson provides the type of education that gives students great life choices and pushes them to achieve their full potential. This is such an honor and privilege to receive. We will all continue to thrive to provide the best education for all students. |
